Hi Everyone,
Well a new season is just around the corner. I hope that you all had a very good summer. I am also hoping that all you are returning this season to continue the fantastic work that you do for the league.
There have been some changes in the SFMAAAHL for the coming season. The biggest change is the fact that we are going to a 2 Referee and 1 Linesman officiating format. I have had the Hockey Canada Power Point outlining this system uploaded to the “Downloads” section of the website please review often. Most of the centers in the league that have Male Midget AAA should be very familiar with the system. Our focus still remains to develop female officials to work this level of hockey with the emphasis to move them on to higher elite levels of hockey. With that said we also want to make sure that the best available officials are working the games. That was something we did this past season in the playoffs as we assigned males as they were the best officials.
The game fees have also been increased to $60 - $60 - $40 and the mileage rate is $0.40/km. I have also had a mileage chart and an expense form that officials can use uploaded to the “Downloads” section as well. I would like the officials to fill out the expense form and submit them MONTHLY.
Something new I would like to try is to have you assign your games monthly and send me your assignments and I will have them posted on the website. We are trying to have more games in the league supervised this season and this way the supervisors can see which officials are working which games. I have enclosed a spread sheet you can use or modify for your needs.
Below I have enclosed the league by-law governing warm-ups and overtime during the regular season. Please make sure that the officials know and understand what is required.
