SHARKS STAFF SET FOR 2012/13

The BATTLEFORDS FEMALE HOCKEY ASSOCIATION is pleased to announce the following coaching staff and management staff for the 2012-2013 season:
 
 
Head Coach – Brittany Penner – Brittany played minor hockey in the Battlefords Minor Hockey Association until she became midget age and then she played for the Battlefords Female Hockey Association AA Midget Sharks.  She continued her playing time in the CIS with the University of Saskatchewan Huskies.  Brittany was an assistant coach with the AAA Sharks last season.

INVITES TO HOCKEY CANADA CAMP

A pair of Saskatchewan players are heading to Toronto for Hockey Canada Strenght and Conditioning Camp that runs from May 2-6.

Saskatoon Stars forward Emily Clark (Saskatoon), a 2 year veteran of the Team Sask U18 and recent member of Team Canada U18. This will be Clark's 2nd tour at camp with Hockey Canada.

Joining Clark at camp is forward Kennedy Ottenbreit (Grayson) a former player with the Melville Prairie Fire, a 3 year player with Team Sask U18 and this will be her first Hockey Canada tryout camp.

BEARS ALUMNI CAPTURES AWARD

An alumnus of the Prince Albert A & W Bears was recently honoured with an athletic award at St. Thomas University in Fredericton, New Brunswick. Danielle Miller was named rookie of the year for the St. Thomas Tommies women’s hockey team.
 
Miller was second in team scoring with 8 goals and 13 assists in 24 games. Miller was also named to the Atlantic University Sports (AUS) conference all rookie all-star team.
 
The Tommies will host the CIS national championship in 2014.

REGIONALS DECIDED

Manitoba champion Pembina Valley Hawks has captured the Regional playdowns with a pair of 1 goal victories.

Game #1 was a tight 2 to 1 score. Game #2 was a 3 to 2 overtime win to sweep the best of three series.
