CLARK & CAMPBELL NAMED TO NATIONAL TEAM

A pair of SFMHL alumni have been named to the Canada Women's National Team to play in the 4 Nations Cup.

Emily Clark a former Saskatoon Star & Jessica Campbell former Melville Prairie Fire are both making their debuts with the national squad.

RED DEER TO HOST 2015 ESSO CUP
CALGARY, Alta. – Hockey Canada, in partnership with Hockey Alberta, the Red Deer Minor Hockey Commission and the Alberta Major Midget Female Hockey League (AMMFHL), announced Tuesday that Red Deer, Alta., will host the 2015 Esso Cup, Canada’s National Female Midget Championship, from April 19-26, 2015.
 
The host Red Deer Chiefs of the AMMFHL will be joined by five regional champions (Atlantic, Ontario, Pacific, Quebec and West) to compete for the national championship at the 1,400-seat Red Deer Arena.

CHAD KISH wins SHA COACH of the YEAR

Congratulations to the Saskatchewan Hockey Association Award Winners for 2013-14.

 Coach of the Year - Chad Kish (Weyburn)

Chad is currently coaching the Gold Wings, but started coaching Initiation in 2002 and has been coaching ever since. He was the driving force in bringing Weyburn the Midget girls AA and Midget girls AAA programs and have made them both very successful. He was also instrumental in making Weyburn girls hockey the strong program it is today.

JANE KISH SIGNS WITH COUGARS
University of Regina women's hockey head coach Sarah Hodges announced Tuesday that Weyburn Gold Wings goaltender Jane Kish (pictured) has signed a CIS Letter of Intent for the 2014-15 season.

Kish currently leads the SFMHL with a 1.34 goals-against average and also has a .942 save percentage for Weyburn. She's started 18 games for the Southern Range Gold Wings, who currently sit in third place in the league standings with a 14-6-1-3 record.

FORMER REBEL CAPTURES AWARD
Former Regina Rebel forward Patricia McGauley has been named to the All Academic Team for the 4th consecutive year.

The Yale women’s ice hockey team had 16 student-athletes named to the 2013-14 ECAC Hockey All-Academic Team, which was announced by the league today. The Bulldogs’ honorees included all four seniors: forward Paige Decker (New Preston, Conn.), forward Ashley Dunbar (Hillsborough, N.J.), forward Patricia McGauley (Wilcox, Sask.) and defenseman Tara Tomimoto (Calgary, Alta.) ...
