COACHING POSITION AVAILABLE

The Saskatoon Stars of the Saskatchewan Female Midget AAA Hockey League are accepting applications for the positions of Head Coach, Assistant Coach, Team Manager, and Trainer for the 2013-14 season. Deadline for submissions is May 31, 2013.

ESSO CUP REPORT

The Regina Rebels battled the Edmonton Thunder in the Bronze game at the 2013 ESSO Cup and despite outshooting the Thunder 29-19, were defeated 1-0. The Rebels were knocked into the Bronze game after losing the semi final 6-3 to Quebec rep LFHDQ Nord.

The Rebels put in a strong performance all week finishing with 3 wins, a shootout loss and an overtime loss.

Emma Waldenberger led the Rebels with 7 points, Teah Anderson had 6 points and Hannah Heisler had 5 points to lead the club. Rookie goalie Tatum Shand played in 4 round robin games and posted a 2.22 GAA....

SHARKS HEADING TO COLLEGE

As one opportunity ends behind them, another door opens for graduating Battlefords AAA Sharks Taylor Durocher and Shania Rhinehart.

The Rainy River Community College women’s hockey coach Evan Amdahl announced the signing of the players after they visited the college and signed their letters of intent to play for the Voyageurs for the 2013-14 season.

Durocher, a defenceman from Meadow Lake played 83 games spanning from 2010 to 2013. She racked up five goals and seven assists in her Sharks’ career.

REBELS WIN REGIONALS

Regina Rebels are heading to Burnaby, BC to represent the Western Region at the Esso Cup after a thrilling 2-1 overtime victory in Morden, MB. The Rebels swept the best of 3 series with a pair of overtime wins.

Hannah Heisler provided the heroics with a solo rush beating the defenseman wide and then dekeing the netminder at 5:47 of the first overtime.

Teah Anderson of the Rebels tied the game in the third period. Goalie Tatum Shand faced 32 shots.
